IRENE LOZACH JOINS AS REGIONAL SALES AND MARKETING DIRECTOR

January 9, 2008 -- Berkeley, CA: Vivien Gay, Vinum Global Founder and CEO, today welcomed Irene Roth Lozach as Vinum Global’s newest Regional Sales and Marketing Director, saying: “Vinum Global’s approach to the wine business centers on forming collaborative relationships to build fine wine brands. Irene’s extensive experience and connections, as well as her innovative and strategic thinking will help us deliver value to our partners at each tier of the industry.”

As Regional Sales and Marketing Director, Lozach oversees the Northeast area and is responsible for developing integrated sales and marketing programs to build brand image and value. Most recently, Lozach was Northern U.S. Area Manager for Osborne, USA, a fine Spanish wines and spirits portfolio, where she managed brand positioning, distribution and sales goals through importation, distribution, sales and marketing. Prior to that, she directed Allied Domecq Wines in New York State overseeing the marketing and sales activities for a portfolio of 14 brands including working with distributors to develop and successfully execute sales programs, recruiting and training staff, and managing marketing programs. She worked her way up to this position at Allied Domecq beginning as the Mid-Atlantic area manager.  Rounding out her industry experience, Lozach began her wine sales career on a distributor team and worked directly for a Californian producer.

July 9, 2007 -- Berkeley, CA:  Vinum Global, an innovative wine sales and marketing company is continuing to build its core staff with the addition of Jonathan Scott Apt as Regional Sales and Marketing Director. Vivien Gay, Vinum Global Founder and CEO welcomed Apt saying: “Jonathan’s outstanding wine industry experience and his entrepreneurial spirit will help us develop creative strategic ways to market for our winery and fine beverage partners.” 

Apt’s career includes wine sales and buy-side experience. He began his career in the hospitality industry working his way up from restaurant management positions to the Director of Food and Beverage at several hotels including Renaissance Stanford Court in San Francisco, the Dallas Marriott Market Center and Hotel Laguna, in Laguna Beach California. Under his leadership, these properties earned the Wine Spectator’s “Award of Excellence” and the restaurants merited Dirona and Zagat listings.  Pursuing his interest in the wine industry, he joined the California fine wine wholesaler American Wines, as a Fine Wine Specialist and was promoted to Import Manager for three Southern California Counties. Deepening his understanding of the supply side, he joined Pezzi King Vineyards, a Sonoma California winery serving as Director of Sales and Marketing. 

“Jon’s managerial skills and depth and breadth of industry knowledge enable him to partner effectively with suppliers, distributors and accounts,” explains Gay.

June 6, 2007 -- Berkeley, CA:  Vinum Global Founder and CEO Vivien Gay today welcomed Debbie Emery as the Regional Sales and Marketing Director and Ellen C. Forrest, Finance and Operations Manager to Vinum Global’s professional staff, saying: “Both Debbie and Ellen bring a wealth of experience to Vinum Global and share our enthusiasm about building lasting brands and delivering value to all our wine industry partners.”

Debbie Emery joins Vinum Global from Pacific Wine Partners, a division of Constellation Wines, where she was regional sales manager with responsibility for multiple brands in several states. There she lead the strategic sales planning process and was responsible for developing program calendars by channel, providing sales and depletion analysis, and significantly increasing sales and profitability. Her fine wine experience includes serving as channel manager for the Pacific Division of Southcorp Wines, working with such premium brands as Penfolds of Australia, and as regional sales manager at Joseph Phelps Vineyards and St. Supéry Vineyards and Winery. She has directed sales from within wineries at Regal Wine Company, the winery direct marketing division of Kendall-Jackson.  Emery began her career at Christian Brothers Winery.

“I first met Debbie when I was Vice President of Sales at St. Supéry and I’ve tracked her career since. Finance and Operations Manager Ellen C. Forrest is a central member of the team, bringing diverse experience and a high level of expertise to serve Vinum Global’s clients and growing sales force. Ellen joins Vinum from Scott Street Portfolio where she managed the finance, logistics, customer service and human resources for the wine importer. Her background includes both accounting and human resource roles, in industries ranging from fine wine, to special events and entertainment.  Her passion for wine included studies of viniculture and enology at University of California, Davis.

Her early wine career included management roles at Southern Wine & Spirits and as a retail buyer in San Francisco.

Liz Cassanos, Vice President Marketing, brings more than 20-years marketing-communications experience from diverse industries where she provided strategic counsel, developed distinct brand positionings and executed integrated marketing programs. For the last seven years, Cassanos has focused on building strong wine brands as an independent consultant and prior to that as Public Relations Director for Paterno Wines International and the Terlato Wine Group. 

Peter Nevin, Vice President Information Technology, applies his 25-years experience designing and implementing sales, inventory and operations systems to enhance efficiency and profitability. In the wine industry, Nevin has worked with such companies as Sonoma-Cutrer, Brown Forman and as a consultant with wineries of varying sizes. Nevin’s proprietary system for Vinum Global represents the state-of-the-art in wine sales tracking and management.
